KUSEKA.COM is a website that has been developed in order to address the problems that talented Malawians have been facing for a long time. Many people who have got the talent of expressing their ideas through their creativity like cartoons for example have been finding it hard to do so because the current media in Malawi does not accommodate a large number of submissions from a wide range of people. We always see the same type and number of cartoons in our local newspapers. This does not mean that we only have a few creative people in the country but lots more who do not find a way of showing their creativity to the world.
It is by this reason that we felt the need of finding a way to help both professional and upcoming artists in realizing their long awaited dreams. We chose the web as a good tool for this because it will not only reach people in Malawi but the whole world. The whole world should know what Malawi is and the talent it has.
Much as we laugh at stories depicted in cartoons we also have to bear in mind that a cartoon is not just there for us to laugh. There are stories and lessons that we can get behind these pictures. People have to learn something out of these. A cartoon can work as a tool to boost our own culture if it depicts cultural incidents so that people across the world can learn who we are and what we believe in, just from a laugh.
Since this is just a new idea, its success depends on the people visiting this site. The more we give it support, the more our artists and Malawi as a whole are going to be well known across the world.
